Economic Botany is the study of the relationship between people and plants. Economic Botany intersects many fields including established disciplines such as Agronomy, Anthropology, Economics, Ethnobotany, Horticulture, Microbiology, Nutrition, Medicine, Chemistry, Forestry, Pharmacognosy, Geology and Geography. This interdisciplinary link explores the ways humans use plants for food, fodder, fiber, fuel, medicine and commerce. There are several famous books on Economic Botany in India that we have studied. These are our wealth. In the first edition of this book, the authors tried to keep in mind that students can get help to prepare themselves directly for their examination. There are two parts to this book. The first part consists of a theory portion comprising chapters, and the second part consists of practical courses of 13 chapters covering UGC approved new syllabus of CBCS followed by different Universities like Burdwan University, University of Bankura, Kolkata University, Visva-Bharati, etc.
