General Microbiology

The book is organized in a flexible order. The chapter may be re arranged any order. Each chapter is as self content as other.
The content of the book is as given below:
1. History of Microbiology: In this very first chapter history of microbiology is discussed right from ancient time to medieval and modern era of microbiology. In this chapter birth of microorganism is also discussed. This chapter contains pictures of some great scientist of Microbiology.
2. Cell: This is the second chapter of the text. This chapter describes cytology which includes, cell organelles with their structure and function. Comparison of eukaryotes and prokaryotes. This chapter also describes cell division.
3. Classification and Morphology of Microorganism: In this chapter different types of Microorganisms namely fungi, bacteria, virus, algae and protozoa are discussed with classification and structure.
4. Microbial Genetics: This includes expression and regulation of the gene. It also contains DNA replication & mutation. This also includes a discussion of the Mechanism of Gene transfer methods.
5. Viruses: This chapter discusses the details of Viruses with their structure. In this chapter Viruses are classified as per the host type. Microbial disease: This is an important chapter from the angle of medical microbiology. In this chapter students will study the different types of diseases caused by different micro organism, their symptoms and cure.

7. Growth, Sterilization and Control of Microorganisms: This chapter deals Types of growth Media, methods of isolation and Growth.In this chapter we will study different methods of sterilization to prevent the growth of micro organism. If there is and growth of micro organism then there is a control also, this chapter also discusses the control of micro organism.

8. Environmental Microbiology: Environmental microbiology is the major thirst area in the present scenario of the world. In this lesson we discussion the different types of pollution effecting earth as well as the measures we can take to protect the environment.
9. Industrial Microbiology: This is the last chapter of the text and in this the application of microbiology is discussed in respect to the food and medicinal industries
